Federated Search

A search approach that accepts a single user query, dispatches appropriately formulated subqueries in parallel to multiple autonomous search systems or databases (which retain independent control of their indexes and ranking), and aggregates, de‑duplicates and presents the combined responses to the user without creating a centralized, combined index.
