Epistemicism

A semantic theory of vagueness that holds that vague predicates in fact have precise, sharp boundaries or extensions, but that those boundaries are epistemically inaccessible to speakers; vagueness is therefore a matter of ignorance about exact cutoffs rather than semantic indeterminacy.
