A minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic technique using a flexible or rigid endoscope—a device with illumination, optics and often a working channel—to directly visualize the mucosa and lumen of hollow organs or body cavities in animals and to obtain targeted samples or perform interventions (biopsy, foreign‑body removal, limited therapeutic procedures); applicability is constrained by rea
