Eliminative Materialism

A philosophical doctrine asserting that common‑sense ‘folk‑psychological’ mental categories (e.g., beliefs, desires, intentions) are theoretical posits that systematically misrepresent the causal structure of cognition and therefore should be abandoned and replaced by neurobiological or other scientifically superior descriptions of mind.
