An imaging technique that quantifies body composition and bone mineral by measuring X‑ray attenuation at two photon energy levels and using the differential attenuation to separate bone mineral content, lean soft tissue and fat tissue, producing regional and whole‑body estimates such as areal bone mineral density (aBMD), fat mass and lean mass.
