Drug–Drug Interaction

A pharmacological interaction in which one drug alters the effect, exposure (pharmacokinetics) or toxicity (pharmacodynamics or adverse-effect profile) of another when both are co‑administered, such that the clinical effect, required dose or risk profile of one or both agents is materially changed.
