Coronary Artery

An arterial vessel originating from the aortic root (proximal aorta) that branches to deliver oxygenated blood to the myocardium and other structures of the heart; coronary arteries are anatomically distributed into major epicardial branches and progressively smaller intramyocardial branches that determine regional myocardial perfusion.
