Cognitive Archaeology

The study of past cognition, mental representations and information processing inferred from material culture, symbolic systems and artefactual organization; it uses comparative, experimental and contextual methods to generate probabilistic inferences about collective mental capacities, concepts and practised knowledge without claiming direct access to subjective experience.
