Definition
Interconnected pathways by which features of the built environment—housing quality, density and land use patterns, transport infrastructure, public spaces, utilities and building systems—affect population health outcomes, exposure risks and well‑being through mechanisms including exposure to hazards, access to services, social determinants and behaviour shaping.
