Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer Theory

A microscopic theory of conventional superconductivity in which an effective attractive interaction between electrons (mediated typically by phonons) leads to the formation of Cooper pairs, a condensate with a gap in the single-particle excitation spectrum, and zero resistance below a critical temperature.
