Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve

A scalar summary of a diagnostic or prediction model's discrimination that equals the probability a randomly chosen positive case receives a higher score than a randomly chosen negative case; computed as the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and ranging from 0 to 1 (0.5 = chance).
