Ante's Law

A prosthodontic guideline proposing that the summed root surface area (or periodontal support) of selected abutment teeth for a fixed dental prosthesis should be equal to or greater than the root surface area of the teeth being replaced, in order to reduce the risk of overload and mechanical failure of the prosthesis and its abutments.
