Image Verification

The set of technical and editorial checks—such as provenance tracing, file‑level metadata analysis, manipulation detection, reverse‑image search, geolocation by landmark matching, temporal plausibility assessment and corroborating witness or contextual evidence—used to assess the authenticity, provenance and contextual accuracy of photographs and videos before or after publication.
