Habitus

A durable system of embodied dispositions—acquired through socialization and shaped by past conditions—that structures individuals' perceptions, tastes, practices, and practical sense of what is possible within particular social fields, without reducing agency to fixed traits.

A socially constituted, durable set of dispositions, perceptions, bodily comportments and cognitive schemata—formed through history, social position and practice—that generatively shape how agents perceive possibilities, classify experiences, and enact practices across contexts without requiring explicit deliberation.
