Guided Bone Regeneration

A surgical procedure that uses a biocompatible barrier membrane, with or without bone graft or bone substitute, to exclude non-osteogenic soft tissues from an osseous defect and thereby permit selective repopulation by osteogenic cells to regenerate new bone volume and architecture sufficient for functional or prosthetic needs.
