Golden Proportion

An aesthetic guideline proposing that, when viewed from the frontal perspective, the apparent widths of successive anterior teeth (typically central incisor : lateral incisor : canine) follow a consistent proportion (commonly approximated to the golden ratio ≈1.618) to produce a visually harmonious smile; it is a heuristic for design rather than an absolute anatomical rule.
