Gatewatching

Information & Communication Dictionary
Definition
A participatory model of news selection and circulation in which diverse audiences, intermediaries (blogs, social accounts, aggregators) and affiliated observers monitor information flows, curate or annotate items, and amplify or redirect attention—thereby supplementing or contesting traditional editorial gatekeeping rather than replacing verification responsibilities.
