Flexural Strength

The stress at the extreme fiber of a beam section at the instant of failure under bending, commonly reported as modulus of rupture or flexural strength from standardized three- or four-point bending tests; it represents resistance to bending-induced fracture at the tensile or compressive extreme fiber.
