A Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) is an integrated production arrangement of numerically controlled machine tools, automated material‑handling equipment, fixturing/tooling systems, and centralized computer control that together enable rapid reconfiguration of processing sequences and resource allocation to handle variable product mixes with minimal manual changeover.
