Electronic Preservation Request

A formal written request addressed to a record custodian that identifies specific electronic data (accounts, devices, date ranges, file types, or systems) and instructs the custodian to preserve that data and associated metadata intact and to suspend routine deletion or alteration pending legal process, investigation, or further legal compulsion.
