Elastic Modulus

Material property defined as the ratio of applied uniaxial stress to the resulting elastic (recoverable) strain within the linear portion of the stress–strain response; commonly denoted E (Young’s modulus). Valid only for the linear elastic regime and under the assumptions stated (small strains, specified material symmetry).
