Eine radiale Basisfunktion (RBF) ist eine Funktion phi(r), deren Wert nur vom radialen Abstand r = ||x - c|| zu einem Zentrum c abhängt; RBFs werden als isotrope Basis-Kerne für Interpolation, Approximation und netzfreie Methoden verwendet.
