Confusion Assessment Method

Standardized, bedside algorithm to detect delirium by assessing four features: acute onset and fluctuating course; inattention; disorganized thinking; and altered level of consciousness. It is a clinical screening/diagnostic aid that identifies the syndrome of delirium but does not itself determine etiology or severity.
