Clinical Attachment Level

The linear distance, expressed in millimetres, from a specified fixed intraoral reference point (commonly the cemento‑enamel junction, CEJ) to the base of the gingival sulcus or periodontal pocket at a site; a site-level metric used to quantify cumulative loss of periodontal connective-tissue attachment relative to the chosen reference point, reported with the reference point explicitly stated and
