Channel

A physical or logical medium together with its characteristic parameters (bandwidth, noise/interference profile, latency, duplexing and access control mechanisms) through which signals or data are conveyed between a sender and a receiver; a channel denotes both the transmission path and the constraints that affect achievable throughput and reliability.
