Causal Structure

A network of directional dependencies and influence relations among events, variables, or processes that explains how one or more antecedent conditions bring about or change subsequent conditions; characterized by mechanisms, counterfactual dependence (what would change under specified interventions), and an ordering of causes distinct from mere statistical association.
