Bronze Disease

An active, localized corrosive process affecting copper‑based alloys in which chloride ions promote formation of powdery, green corrosion products (including copper chloride complexes) that can sustain localized corrosion under the presence of moisture, leading to progressive loss of metal and friable deposits commonly termed ‘bronze disease’.
