Bleeding on Probing

The clinical sign recorded when gingival tissue at a probed site emits blood in response to gentle probing of the sulcus or pocket under standardized force and technique; registered as a binary outcome at each site (present/absent) and often summarised across sites as a proportion or percentage for a patient or quadrant.
