The Beer–Lambert Law (also Beer's Law) relates the absorbance A of monochromatic light passing through a homogeneous, non‑scattering medium to the concentration c of an absorbing species and the path length l by A = ε·l·c, where ε is the molar absorptivity (extinction coefficient) at the specified wavelength; it applies under conditions of linearity, non‑interacting absorbers and negligible scatte
