An integrated circuit or logical subsystem that performs the deterministic digital signal‑processing and real‑time control tasks required for wireless physical‑layer and low‑layer protocol functions, including modulation/demodulation, channel coding/decoding, equalization, FFTs, timing and radio‑resource control interfaces to the RF front end and higher protocol layers.
