Backhaul Network

The transport infrastructure that aggregates and carries user data and signaling traffic from access nodes (e.g., base stations, access points) toward regional aggregation points and core network functions; it comprises the links, equipment, and routing/transport functions whose capacity, latency, and topology determine how access-layer traffic reaches centralized services.
