A minimally invasive operative approach for managing carious lesions that combines selective hand‑instrument excavation of soft, demineralized tissue with placement of an adhesive restorative material (commonly high‑viscosity glass ionomer cement) without rotary instrumentation and often without local anesthesia; designed to preserve tooth structure and extend access to care.
