Allee Effect

A population‑ecology phenomenon in which individual fitness or per‑capita population growth rate decreases at low population densities due to mechanisms such as mate limitation, cooperative behaviour deficits, reduced predator dilution, or demographic stochasticity, potentially producing a critical threshold below which populations decline toward extinction.
