Definition

A commercial and operational contract in which a network (the customer) obtains upstream connectivity from a transit provider that advertises and forwards traffic to and from the broader Internet, typically via BGP, in exchange for recurring fees; the provider supplies global reachability rather than only selective peer exchange.
