Definition

A converter control technique that measures system frequency or its derivative (rate of change of frequency, RoCoF) and commands a fast, short‑term change in active power from power‑electronic resources (batteries, supercapacitors, flywheels, power converters coupled to fast energy buffers, or other fast‑response storage devices) to replicate some of the initial rate‑of‑change and nadir‑mitigation
