Definition

A thermal drying process that converts a liquid feed into a dry powder by atomizing droplets into a hot gas (usually air), producing rapid solvent evaporation from individual droplets and yielding particulate solids whose morphology, moisture content and bulk properties depend on feed composition and drying conditions.
