Definition

A bedside aggregate scoring system that assigns points to predefined deviations in physiological observations (such as respiratory rate, oxygenation, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and level of consciousness) to generate a single score intended to identify hospitalized patients at increased risk of clinical deterioration and to trigger predefined escalation responses.
