Definition

A control technique that continuously adjusts the operating point of a photovoltaic (or similar renewable) generator so that the device operates at or near the voltage/current point that maximizes instantaneous electrical power output P(V) = V·I(V) under given environmental conditions (irradiance, temperature), using algorithms implemented in the power electronic interface.
