Definition

A civil and hydraulic assembly at a water source (river, reservoir, lake or intake) that houses screens, gates, trashracks and conduits to control, screen, and convey raw water into a power plant, pumping or treatment system while protecting downstream equipment and limiting debris, sediment and biological entrainment.
