Definition

The primary internal structural assembly inside a wing formed by the upper and lower skins, spars (or equivalent structural members), ribs and shear webs that together create a box‑like section to resist bending, shear and torsion loads and to transfer those loads between the wing and the fuselage; it commonly encloses fuel and attachment fittings.
