Definition

A restorative procedure that uses a calibrated visible light source to initiate polymerization of photoactive dental materials (for example resin composites and light-compatible adhesives), where the emitted wavelength, irradiance (intensity), exposure time and clinical geometry determine the delivered energy and thus the degree of conversion of the material.
