Definition

A criminal‑law principle that attributes liability to participants in a shared plan or common purpose for offenses committed by any member in furtherance of that plan when those offenses were within the scope of the common purpose or were a foreseeable consequence of it; the mens rea element required (shared intent versus foresight) varies by jurisdiction.
