Definition

An empirical adsorption isotherm that relates the amount adsorbed q to equilibrium concentration or pressure c via q = K · c^(1/n), where K and 1/n are empirical constants. It models adsorption on heterogeneous surfaces over limited concentration ranges and does not predict a finite saturation capacity.
