Définition

La quantité normalisante et génératrice Z(β,...) = ∑_s exp(−β E_s) (ou l'analogue par intégrale en espace des phases) dans l'ensemble canonique, qui somme les poids de Boltzmann sur les micro‑états s ; elle encode les poids statistiques des configurations à l'inverse de température β et donne les observables thermodynamiques.
