Die Topologie auf dem kartesischen Produkt ∏_{i∈I} X_i, erzeugt von Basiselementen, die Produkte ∏_{i∈I} U_i sind, wobei U_i für endlich viele Koordinaten offen in X_i ist und für die übrigen U_i = X_i gilt; sie ist die gröbste Topologie, die alle Projektionen stetig macht.
