The ratio obtained by dividing the highest systolic blood pressure measured at the ankle by the highest systolic pressure measured at the brachial artery; used as a noninvasive screening index for peripheral arterial disease reflecting lower-limb arterial perfusion relative to central (brachial) pressure.
