Definition

A psychological framework that predicts an individual's likelihood of adopting a health behaviour based on six proximal cognitive constructs: perceived susceptibility to a health threat, perceived severity of that threat, perceived benefits of the recommended action, perceived barriers to taking that action, cues to action (triggers), and self‑efficacy to perform the behaviour.
