Definition

The mechanical and load‑transfer relationship between the building façade or cladding system and the primary supporting structure, including connection design, allowance for differential movements (thermal, creep, seismic), and serviceability criteria so that the façade performs structurally, weathertightly, and visibly without imposing unacceptable loads or deformations on the primary structure.
