Definition

Für eine elliptische Kurve E über Q (oder einen Zahlkörper) heißt eine Primstelle p guter Reduktion anomale, wenn die Anzahl der F_p-Punkte die Kongruenz #E(F_p) ≡ 1 (mod p) erfüllt, beziehungsweise die Frobenius-Spur a_p modulo p verschwindet (a_p ≡ 0 mod p). Dies führt zu außergewöhnlichem arithmetischem und algorithmischem Verhalten.
