Ein zweistufiger Substitutionsmechanismus, bei dem die Abgangsgruppe zuerst abgespalten wird und ein Carbokation (oder anderes kationisches) Intermediat bildet, das anschließend vom Nukleophil eingefangen wird; die geschwindigkeitsbestimmende Stufe ist unimolekular und folgt erstordentlicher Kinetik.
